Role & responsibilities

Core Responsibilities in Healthcare & Diagnostics

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Develop and implement Quality Management Systems (QMS) aligned with NABH, JCI, or ISO standards.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation requirements, and diagnostic protocols.
  • Conduct internal audits and facilitate external inspections or certifications.

Performance Monitoring & Improvement

  • Analyze clinical and operational data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to patient safety, diagnostic accuracy, and service delivery.

Diagnostic Quality Oversight

  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of lab results through regular calibration, validation, and proficiency testing.
  • Collaborate with lab technicians and pathologists to maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Oversee biosafety protocols, sample handling, and equipment maintenance.

Staff Training & Engagement

  • Conduct training sessions on quality standards, infection control, and patient
  • safety.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability across departments.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between clinical, diagnostic, and administrative teams.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain detailed records of audits, incidents, and quality metrics.
  • Prepare reports for hospital leadership, accreditation bodies, and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage incident reporting systems and lead investigations into adverse events.
  • Strategic Planning & Leadership
  • Participate in strategic planning for quality initiatives and hospital-wide improvements.
  • Serve as a liaison with external bodies like NABL, NABH, CAP, or ISO certifiers.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends in healthcare quality and diagnostic technologies.
  • Bonus Skills That Elevate the Role
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other quality improvement methodologies.
  • Strong command of data analytics tools and healthcare informatics.
  • Ability to manage multi-site operations or large diagnostic networks.
