Purpose
DEPL is targeting exponential growth in the North Region, with a strong focus on expanding
our footprint in material handling and automation solutions. As Manager Sales (Sales
Engineer), you will lead business development in the North Region (based out of Delhi),
leveraging technical expertise in conveying systems and sales leadership to drive new
customer acquisition, achieve aggressive order booking targets, and build lasting
partnerships in key industries such as Automobile, Warehousing, Food & Agriculture, FMCG,
and Manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the identification and penetration of new customers and untapped segments in
the North Region to expand the customer base, focusing on raw material handling,
process conveying, and end-of-line automation.
Achieve and exceed annual order booking targets for small, medium, and large-scale
turnkey projects in conveying and automation.
Manage and nurture existing key accounts for repeat orders, upselling integrated
solutions, and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
Gather and analyze market intelligence, competitor insights, and industry trends in
the North Region to inform strategic sales planning.
Lead negotiations for projects of varying scales, ensuring optimal margins,
contribution, and alignment with company goals.
Oversee timely payment collections from clients and coordinate with internal teams
for smooth order execution and after-sales support.
Collaborate with Design & Engineering teams to provide technical consultations,
prepare proposals, and demonstrate customized solutions (e.g., slat conveyors,
spiral systems, truck loaders, vision inspection).
Conduct client presentations, site visits, and participate in industry events/trade
shows in the North Region.
Support AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) growth and sustainable solutions,
aligning with DEPL's "Innovate to Excel" philosophy.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
Experience:
5-10 years in technical sales within the engineering/industrial automation sector.
At least 3-5 years in conveyor systems, material handling equipment, or automation
industry (preferred).
Proven track record in B2B sales for capital equipment/projects in North India, with
experience in industries like Automobile, Warehousing, Food Processing, or FMCG.
Prior experience in managing sales territories is a plus.
Competencies / Specific Skills & Knowledge:
Technical understanding of material handling systems (belt/screw conveyors, bucket
elevators, automation integration, etc.).
Excellent selling, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to conduct
technical demos.
Proficient in CRM tools, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), and basic AutoCAD for
layout discussions.
Good written and verbal communication in English and Hindi; regional languages a
plus.
Customer-centric mindset with skills in relationship building and problem-solving.
Willingness to travel extensively across North India (Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar
Pradesh, Rajasthan, etc.).
High energy, self-motivated, and target-oriented with a passion for innovation in
industrial automation.
