Job Purpose:

To lead and strengthen the post-sales service operations for home appliances by enhancing repair efficiency, reducing service costs, ensuring quality assurance, and optimizing spare part and warranty management. The role focuses on minimizing part replacements, and driving operational excellence in service delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance to service engineers for diagnosing and repairing devices instead of replacing parts where feasible.
  • Identify the root cause of issues and create better repair methods to fix products correctly the first time and reduce repair time.
  • Monitor and control warranty-related expenses, ensuring accuracy and authenticity of claims.
  • Review high-cost repair cases and provide technical approvals for cost-effective alternatives.
  • Implement strategies to reduce service and repair costs by improving product repair options and reusing parts wherever possible.
  • Oversee spare parts planning, procurement, and consumption to ensure timely availability and cost control.
  • Handle defective and scrap materials properly by keeping records, disposing of them safely, and recovering costs where possible.
  • Establish processes for part revalidation, reuse, and refurbishment where technically viable.
  • Support training and capability building of service engineers and technicians to enhance repair skillsets.
  • Oversee warranty claim validation, approval, and cost management to reduce unwarranted claims.

Desired candidate profile:

  • Minimum 8 years in post-sales service, repairs, or technical operations within home appliances or consumer electronics industry.
  • Strong technical expertise in diagnostics, repair methodologies, and service process improvement.
  • Deep technical knowledge of home appliance systems and repair technologies.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for root cause identification
  • Strong people management and coaching ability
  • Should have experience of managing and handling team
  • Should be able to identify root cause of problems, think laterally and offer solutions
  • Should have good decision making skills

Experience: 8+ years

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Electronics (preferred)
