Role Summary

The Management Trainee – Finance & Accounts will support the Finance team in daily accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and analytical tasks. The role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to financial processes and develop the trainee into a future finance professional capable of taking on independent responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining accounting records (AP/AR, journals, ledgers).
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of data entry into accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Tally, Oracle).

2. Financial Reporting

  • Help prepare financial statements, MIS reports, and management dashboards.
  • Conduct variance analysis and highlight key trends or discrepancies.
  • Compile financial data for audits and internal reviews.

3. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support the budgeting process by gathering data and preparing draft budgets.
  • Assist in preparing forecast reports and analyzing deviations from actuals.

4. Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and company policies.
  • Assist with tax-related filings, GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
  • Prepare documents and schedules required by auditors.

5. Financial Analysis

  • Perform cost analysis, profitability assessments, and financial modeling.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance financial efficiency.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with procurement, HR, operations, and other departments to support finance-related queries.
  • Participate in training sessions and rotation across finance sub-units.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related field (B.Com / M.Com)
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel; familiarity with accounting software is an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
