We are seeking a talented individual to join our Tech team at MMC Corporate in Mercer PDE Team .This role will be based in Gurgaon/ Noida. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

What can you expect?
As a Lead Software Engineer at Mercer, you will be a key member of our strategic engineering group, embodying best practices, quality, and the overarching engineering vision. You will be actively involved in identifying and delivering advanced technology opportunities based on Generative AI, New AI models, Chatbot etc. You will also be expected to contribute and improve the delivery methodology and practice keeping pace with the market and new technologies.

This hands-on position requires you to be a product builder who leads by example, ensuring the successful delivery of solutions that adhere to the principles of Qualitative Engineering, which include:

You will be designing, developing, and deploying Web and AI solutions that meet the needs and expectations of the clients and the users. Building awareness around the challenges and the best practices that are involved in working with AI and striving to overcome them and improve skills. Additionally, you should have knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.

We will count on you to:

  • Design, implement, and test novel artificial intelligence models and algorithms that can learn from diverse and complex data sources and perform multiple tasks across different domains.
  • Write high-quality code based on Agile user stories, ensuring adherence to coding standards and guidelines through unit testing.
  • Integrate AI solutions into existing products and new developments, aligning AI practices with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and AI specialists to implement machine learning models and AI-driven features.
  • Actively participate in the MMC Technology community, contributing to discussions, collaborations, and learning opportunities.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and promote the principles of reuse across teams and the organization.
  • Advocate for best practices and principles within the organization.
  • Champion agile practices that are foundational to successful product delivery.
  • Foster a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work environment where all ideas and opinions are valued.
  • Build strong relationships with product owners, solutions architects, analysts, and leadership to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art technologies to address real-world challenges, including AI and machine learning applications.
  • Conduct experiments and evaluations to measure and improve the performance, robustness, and scalability of general artificial intelligence systems.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments and trends in artificial intelligence research and applications.
  • Write clean, readable, and testable code that follows best practices and standards.
  • Communicate and document the results and insights of general artificial intelligence projects to internal and external stakeholders.

What you need to have:

  • We are seeking an experienced full stack Software Engineer with a proven track record of working on multiple products, particularly those that leverage AI technologies. The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Strong communication skills, enabling effective interaction with both technical and non-technical colleagues in a cross-functional environment.
  • A successful history of delivering software across a diverse range of languages, technologies, and platforms, including AI integrations.
  • Experience providing opportunities, training, and mentorship to software engineers, particularly in AI and machine learning.
  • Familiarity with Agile at Scale, Lean, and Continuous Delivery methodologies, including Continuous Integration, Test-Driven Development, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with cloud-native software architectures and deploying AI solutions in cloud environments.
  • Proven experience in security-driven design practices and addressing SAST/DAST findings.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD and DevOps practices, including the use of Quality Gates to maintain high code quality.
  • API Development - Develop rest APIs with right set of guardrails using NestJS, NodeJS, Python and other technologies.
  • Machine learning: the process of creating and training models that can learn from data and make predictions or decisions.
  • Natural language processing: the field of AI that deals with understanding and generating natural language, such as text and speech.
  • Computer vision: the field of AI that deals with analyzing and interpreting visual information, such as images and videos.
  • Reinforcement learning: a type of machine learning that involves learning from trial and error by interacting with an environment and receiving rewards or penalties.
  • Data science: the practice of collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data to gain insights and solve problem

What makes you stand out?
Extensive experience across multiple programming languages and frameworks, with deep expertise in at least one of the following: JavaScript, TypeScript.

  • Strong python language expertise with working experience on GenAI applications.
  • Strong experience with frameworks such as Angular, , and Less (Sass).
  • Essential experience in Unit Testing and Integration Testing.
  • Familiarity with AI & NLP frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangFlow, Scikit-learn, NLTK) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with middleware technologies such as Kafka, NServiceBus, Camunda, Dremio, and RabbitMQ is a plus.
  • Proficiency in container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Demonstrated experience in refactoring, implementing design patterns, design-driven development, continuous integration, system and application design, application security, and AI model deployment.
  • Strong experience with ORM frameworks and databases, including TSQL and NoSQL databases such as MSSQL and MongoDB.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC processes and practices, with experience using tools such as Confluence, JIRA, ADO, and GitHub.
  • Experience designing and deploying applications on cloud infrastructure with providers like AWS and Microsoft Azure, particularly in relation to AI services.
  • Familiarity with the MEAN or MERN stack.
  • Experience with consumption and training of SLLMs.
  • BTech/ MCA degree
  • Strong knowledge of Generative AI and artificial intelligence concepts, techniques, and tools, such as LLMs, SLLM,s, Agentic AI, neural networks, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, computer vision, knowledge representation, and reasoning.
  • Prior experience in working with AI/ ML and Generative AI models.
