Job Title: Head, Government and Regulatory Affairs

Location: New Delhi, India

Purpose of the Role:

With the development of the semiconductor industry in India, the Electronics business is expanding its footprint in the country with the goal of becoming a strategic partner in the local ecosystem for semiconductor materials and materials related solutions. To achieve this objective, we are building a strong foundation in government and regulatory affairs. This role will be responsible for defining long-term and short-term objectives and delivering on those in collaboration with the Country Leadership team and Global Functional Teams.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Government Affairs:

• Develop and implement India's Government Affairs strategy, including stakeholder mapping (from central, state to local), positioning of the Electronics business with the government, and conduct advocacy on policy
• Demonstrate a holistic understanding of the industry and the Electronics business to identify collaboration areas with stakeholders to advance mutual interests.
• Work with Business Units to identify collaboration opportunities with the government, prioritizing based on business impact, cost, and mutual benefit.
• Monitor and identify relevant government policies and incentive programs, and assess their impact on business.
• Identify areas where government policies could be proactively shaped to support semiconductor ecosystem development in India.
• Assess geopolitical changes for their impact on India's semiconductor market.
• Create internal awareness of various initiatives from the Government of India related to the semiconductor market.
• Collaborate closely with the Global Electronics Government Affairs team to align and coordinate on local strategies. Serve as the key contact point for India for all Electronics Government Affairs tasks.

Regulatory Affairs:

• Oversee compliance of local licenses through a distributor while monitoring and guiding critical regulatory topics.
• Participate in key business meetings (e.g., new product introductions, investment projects) to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory obligations.
• Manage customer regulatory questions and surveys in collaboration with experts.
• Ensure product compliance and safety risks are adequately assessed.
• Work with EHS professionals and supply chain to ensure proper handling and compliance.
• Engage in Management of Change, effectively communicating regulatory/hazard updates to business and supply chain.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant fields; advanced degree in public policy, scientific field, or management preferred.
• 10 years of relevant experience in public affairs and government affairs in India.
• Experience in the semiconductor or electronics industry.
• Experience interfacing with the Government of India at the Central ministry level.
• Chemical industry experience preferred; global experience is desirable.
