Responsibilities
  • 8+ years of FEA experience with industrial, heavy engineering domains; experience in consumer electronics domain would be added advantage
Experience with primary FEA tools – Hypermesh, SIMLAB and Abaqus   Mandatory Requirements:
  • Creating Finite Element Models of various parts / assemblies in Altair Hypermesh/SIMLAB and solving in Abaqus as primary tool
  • Interpreting analysis results with respect to results obtained by lab testing procedures, converting FEA results into practical design for the given geometry
  • Thorough understanding of FEM modeling techniques including Abaqus element types, structure idealization, bolted connections, contact, results verification methods etc.
  • Experience with linear / non-linear static finite element analysis of consumer electronics products
  • System level drop or dynamic impact simulation experience, structural analysis and structural design experience with a good understanding in trade-offs of system integrations of electronic devices
  Desired Requirements:
  • Experience with variety of material characterization methods for plastics, adhesives, glass etc.
  • Knowledge of instrumented drop testing, stiffness testing, and materials testing.
  • Experience with CAD software such as Creo would be added advantage
  • Knowledge of Ansys software to study Multiphysics behavior would be added advantage
  • Experience with drop/stiffness test procedures to combine simulation and test results for cohesive design would be added advantage
