Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of IT to lead our technology infrastructure and operations.

This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our systems that support complex quantitative models, real-time data ingestion, and high-frequency analytics for hedge fund clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT leadership within capital markets or fintech environments, with a deep understanding of the unique demands of hedge fund operations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Technology Leadership

Define and execute a forward-looking IT strategy aligned with the needs of hedge fund clients and internal analytics teams.

Lead digital transformation initiatives to support real-time data processing, low-latency infrastructure, and scalable analytics platforms.

Infrastructure & Operations

Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of secure, high-availability IT infrastructure (on-premise, hybrid, and cloud).

Ensure seamless integration of market data feeds (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE), OMS/EMS platforms, and proprietary analytics tools.

Cybersecurity & Regulatory Compliance

Implement robust cybersecurity frameworks to safeguard sensitive trading and portfolio data.

Ensure compliance with global financial regulations (e.g., SEC, FCA, GDPR) and internal client policies.

Team & Vendor Management

Build and lead a high-performing IT team, including DevOps, cloud engineers, and support specialists.

Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee IT procurement and budgeting.

Client-Focused Collaboration

Partner with quant teams, portfolio managers, and data scientists to support the development and deployment of analytics solutions.

Ensure IT systems meet the performance, latency, and security expectations of hedge fund clients.

Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

15 + years of progressive IT experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within hedge funds, asset management, or fintech.

Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), cybersecurity, and enterprise IT systems.

Experience with low-latency systems, high-frequency data processing, and real-time analytics.

Familiarity with financial data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar) and integration with trading systems.

Preferred Skills

Experience with data lake architectures, distributed computing (e.g., Spark, Kafka), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Knowledge of FIX protocol, OMS/EMS systems, and market data normalization.

Certifications such as CISSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or PMP are a plus.
