Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the content or piece of writing is free of any errors, be it factual or grammatical.
  • To sub-edit text written by a number of authors to ensure consistent house style.
  • To proofread files and documents to check for grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • To check for visual problems (e.g., tabs, alignment, consistency of fonts and spacing, etc.)
  • To revise scientific language for flow, usage, and clarity and ensure facts, data, and scientific units have been used correctly.
  • Responsible for fact-checking, medical spell checks, and conducting other quality control reviews.
  • To guide other team members on editorial policies, styles, and best practices.
  • To convey edits and queries in a productive, friendly, and concise format with the content creator and internal team.
  • To check reference lists for completeness, correct spelling, etc.
  • Rephrase written text and ensure document structure and content are consistent.
  • To forward proofread materials for approval and publication.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.
  • Minimum 2-8 years of professional experience working as QC in the publishing industry for Books
  • Should know to understand and execute specifications/instructions provided by the customer
  • Ready to work in flexible shifts
