Junior Accountant – Roles and Responsibilities1. Financial Record Keeping

  • Maintain day-to-day accounting records such as journal entries, ledgers, and vouchers.
  • Ensure accuracy in posting transactions to the correct accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of general ledgers.

2. Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Process supplier invoices and ensure timely vendor payments.

3. Bank and Cash Management

  • Assist in monthly bank reconciliation statements.
  • Monitor petty cash and ensure proper documentation for all cash expenses.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records for audits.

5. Taxation and Compliance

  • Help in preparing GST, TDS, and other statutory returns.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and local tax laws.
  • Support auditors during internal or external audits.

6. Payroll Assistance

  • Assist in payroll processing and maintain employee expense records.
  • Ensure timely deduction and remittance of statutory contributions (e.g., PF, ESI).

Key Skills Required

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books).
  • Attention to detail and good analytical ability.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Integrity and confidentiality in handling financial data.
