Roles & Responsibilities in Accounts Department

  1. Maintaining Financial Records

  2. Record all financial transactions accurately (sales, purchases, receipts, and payments).

  3. Maintain ledgers, journals, and books of accounts.

  4. Invoice & Billing

  5. Prepare and send customer invoices.

  6. Ensure timely payments from customers.
  7. Process vendor bills for payment.

  8. Accounts Payable & Receivable

  9. Track incoming and outgoing payments.

  10. Manage vendor and customer accounts.
  11. Reconcile outstanding balances.

  12. Bank Reconciliation

  13. Match company books with bank statements regularly.

  14. Identify and resolve discrepancies.

  15. Taxation & Compliance

  16. Prepare and file GST, TDS, and income tax returns.

  17. Ensure compliance with government regulations.

  18. Payroll Processing

  19. Calculate salaries, bonuses, and deductions.

  20. Disburse salaries and maintain salary records.

  21. Budgeting & Forecasting

  22. Assist in preparing budgets.

  23. Monitor actual expenses against the budget.

  24. Financial Reporting

  25. Prepare profit & loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

  26. Support audits by providing financial documents.

  27. Internal Controls

  28. Implement and follow proper approval processes.

  29. Prevent fraud and ensure data accuracy.

  30. Coordination with Auditors & Management

  31. Provide required data to internal/external auditors.

  32. Assist in financial decision-making.
