Role & responsibilities

This role requires a deep understanding of commercial laws, contract management, litigation strategy, arbitration, international contracts/arbitrations.

The job holder plays a vital role in ensuring that the organization operates within the bounds of the law and effectively manages legal risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the organization's legal strategy in alignment with its business objectives.
  • Vetting of Commercial Contracts, Cross country Procurement / Marketing contracts, risks and remedial measures
  • Provide legal guidance and counsel to senior management and various internal departments within the organization.
  • Develop and manage the legal department's budget, ensuring cost-effective legal processes.
  • Manage and oversee all litigation matters, including disputes, lawsuits, and legal claims.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel and manage the organization's legal representation.
  • Develop litigation strategies and risk mitigation plans.
  • Handle international and domestic arbitration proceedings.
  • Evaluate the suitability of ADR mechanisms for resolving disputes and manage the ADR process effectively.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including international contracts, vendor agreements, and customer contracts.
  • Implement robust contract management processes to mitigate risks.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations. Implement risk management strategies and policies to protect the organization's interests.
  • Lead and manage a team of legal professionals, including lawyers, and support staff.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to the legal team.

Preferred candidate profile

20+ Year of Legal Experience in the Corporate Environment

Qualifications :

Graduation + LLB
