The Opportunity
The Agriculture Practice at Sattva focuses on sustainable agriculture and food security, working to improve agricultural value chains, solving water challenges in India through digital public goods, and promoting sustainable supply chains, with a particular emphasis on smallholder farmers in partnership with the Government, private corporations, domestic and global foundations, non-profits and social enterprises in
India.
The Engagement Lead in the Agriculture Practice Area will be leading multiple client engagements end-to-end from project scoping and design to execution, ensuring high-quality outputs, client satisfaction, and measurable impact. You will be managing project teams, working closely with the senior leadership, and building trusted client relationships while driving analytical rigour, innovation and actionable insights. You shall be expected to work in close coordination with the team to undertake the following responsibilities effectively:
Government Engagement -- Enable data-driven and outcome-linked planning across states and districts level in line with the PM-DDKY priorities.  -- Support states and districts in preparing robust agriculture plans through structured frameworks, digital tools, and standard templates to ensure quality and consistency across all districts.  -- Establish an integrated data system that connects national, state, and district systems and enables automated data extraction from existing platforms. Work with NITI Aayog to refine KPIs and use proxies to strengthen data validation and outcome level tracking.  -- Ensure regular performance tracking of KPIs linked to key programme outcomes.  -- Generate actionable insights from programme data to support reviews and enable timely course corrections.  -- Document and disseminate best practices to inform govt stakeholders at national, state, and district levels for continuous improvement.
Program and Team Management  Anchor project planning, timelines, deliverables, financials and quality assurance to ensure
desired outcomes are achieved
Facilitate joint decision-making and coordination among key governments, funding, implementation, and technical partners for effective and timely programme delivery.  Enable cross-learning through review meetings, workshops, and shared knowledge forums.  Manage a multidisciplinary team comprising data analysts, and consultants and Partners to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.  Build a high-performance culture anchored in ownership, learning, and innovation; Facilitateinternal learning, capacity building, and performance management within the team
Problem Solving & Thought Leadership
-- Lead research, quantitative/qualitative analysis, and synthesis of strategic recommendations
-- Bring sectoral and functional expertise to develop robust, evidence-based solutions
-- Contribute to the firm's knowledge base and intellectual capital through case studies, frameworks and insights Client & Stakeholder Engagement
-- Serve as the primary point of contact for client leadership teams
-- Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, partners, and ecosystem actors
-- Advise clients on emerging opportunities and investment areas based on ecosystem trends, resulting in high value to the client engagement.  -- Facilitate client workshops, strategy sessions, and decision-making forums
Institution Building
-- Identify new opportunities with existing and prospective clients.  -- Support proposal development, pitch preparation and client discussions.  -- Contribute towards the development of junior consultants and associates for professional growth, and towards a strong culture and working environment overall
Key qualifications and experiences

We are looking for individuals who align with our mission and have the following profile: years of experience in the agriculture industry either as a part of large companies or as a part of strategy consulting.  -- Proven experience in managing complex operations, stakeholder management and business development.  -- MBA/MPA or equivalent postgraduate degree in business management/agri-business or rural management. -- Proven record of client-facing roles and managing cross-functional teams.
-- Exceptional problem-solving and advisory skills, strong presentation, and data analytical abilities. -- Strong articulation skills in both oral and written form with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.  -- Prior experience in leading diverse teams and people management.  -- Demonstrated commitment to social impact/prior experience working in the social sector.
-- Self-driven, high-energy, curious, and adaptable personality with the ability to produce high quality (entrepreneurial mindset).
