The Marketing function at MakeMyTrip plays a pivotal role in building brand equity, driving customer acquisition, and deepening engagement across diverse traveller segments. It partners closely with business, product, and design teams to craft campaigns that inspire travel, strengthen brand recall, and deliver measurable business impact.

The Brand Marketing function for Emerging Business leverages data-driven strategies and innovative SEO techniques to enhance website performance and visibility. By combining expertise in keyword research, content optimization, and technical SEO, the team aims to drive organic traffic growth, improve search rankings, and increase revenue. With a strong focus on MakeMyTrip's lines of business—such as Holidays and Where2Go—this function plays a crucial role in accelerating growth and achieving broader business objectives.

About The Role
The incumbent will be responsible for optimizing the website and its content to achieve higher search engine rankings and increased organic traffic. The role involves close collaboration with Product, Tech, Content, and Revenue teams to design and execute SEO strategies aligned with business goals. It requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking to strengthen SEO performance across keyword research, on-page and off-page optimization, technical SEO audits, competition analysis, GEO/AIO optimization, and performance tracking.

What Will You Be Doing

  • Team Leadership: Leading and mentoring a team of SEO specialists to drive collaboration, learning, and high-quality delivery.
  • SEO Strategy: Building and executing comprehensive SEO strategies across multiple business lines.
  • Performance Ownership: Setting and monitoring SEO goals; tracking KPIs such as traffic, rankings, and conversions to ensure desired outcomes.
  • Technical SEO: Optimizing site architecture, indexing, internal linking, schema, and page speed in partnership with Tech and Product teams.
  • Content SEO: Collaborating with content teams on keyword research, content optimization, and gap analysis.
  • Traffic Growth: Designing scalable traffic acquisition strategies leveraging automation and data-driven insights.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnering with Product, Content, Revenue, and Tech teams to align SEO initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Competitive & Market Insights: Benchmarking competitors, tracking industry trends, and proactively adapting strategies.
  • Reporting: Delivering clear, actionable SEO performance updates to leadership.
  • Innovation: Staying ahead of algorithm changes and emerging SEO practices to capture new growth opportunities.

Qualification & Experience

  • Graduate or a postgraduate from a reputed institute with 8–10 years of hands-on SEO experience, demonstrating a strong track record of driving substantial organic traffic growth and successfully managing SEO for e-commerce platforms.
  • Proficient in industry-standard SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Majestic, and Google Search Console, with strong understanding of analytics platforms including Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics (Omniture).
  • Deep knowledge of search engine ranking factors, optimization techniques, and major algorithm updates, along with working understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the technical constraints impacting SEO.
  • Experience in addressing SEO challenges at scale across both web and mobile platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end SEO strategies while effectively managing multiple stakeholders in global, fast-paced environments.
  • Well-versed in audience-building tactics, conversion funnel optimization, and integrating SEO efforts within broader performance marketing initiatives.
