Role & responsibilities
- The position has overall responsibility for increasing sales, profitability and market share for a defined state(s).
- The incumbent will lead the business development efforts in the branch through the sales team in alignment with the sales policy of the organization and should be able to make projections in terms of cost benefit Analysis.
- Enhancing distribution channels, Trade relationships, Depot Management.
- Ensure adequate service to the trade partners and the administration of the branch in all sales aspects.
- S/he will assess the market size & share, sales potential and create effective channels of distribution to meet short term and long-term goals for both large town and upcountry markets.
- Provide town/ market wise direction to the team and build strong teams through sharing of ideas and encouraging sales innovation. He has to co-ordinate with factory for product improvements by following up on the Quality Feedback form. He has to co-ordinate with marketing for new product launches
- Undertake analysis of market and competition in order to recommend appropriate marketing initiatives at the zonal level. He is responsible for keeping cost under control.
- Planning and monitoring new product launches in co-ordination with the central marketing team & the zone.
- Factory co-ordination for supply issues, relationship building with key dealers in each territory and co-ordination with commercial.
- Overall responsibility of hiring, retaining, developing and appraising the branch employees in line with the HR philosophy of the company.
- Ensure that Branch inventory is in line with company norms and policies, laying down policies and processes in the branch to avoid over dues.
- Ensure that outstanding Debtors control is as per company policies.
- He should direct and lead a team of Sales Officers/ Executives and ensure that they understand their targets and goals.
- He should liason with the outside parties ( like suppliers , dealers , merchandising agency and marketing cum promotional agencies )on behalf of the company
- He forecast the branch requirements for next quarter and manager inventory.
- He is also responsible for budget setting of his branch and within branch of each member of his team.
- He must ensure that tie-ups with key dealers ensure stability of operations and surety of business in the year.
- He is to roll out the trade schemes in the branch. He is the final guardian of the liability of the branch.
