Role Summary

Acharya Institutes seeks a highly qualified and RCI-registered Clinical Psychologist to join the Psychology Department as an Associate Professor. This senior academic role demands expertise in teaching, rigorous research, and advanced clinical supervision, with a core responsibility for ensuring the academic curriculum meets the highest professional and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities;-

A. Academic & Clinical Instruction

  • Specialized Teaching: Deliver advanced theoretical and practical instruction for postgraduate students (M.Sc. Clinical Psychology and related programs) in subjects like Psychopathology, Clinical Diagnosis, Psychometry, and evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT).
  • Clinical Supervision: Provide direct, mandatory clinical supervision and mentorship to postgraduate students, focusing on case formulation, ethical practice, and skill development in psychological assessment and intervention.
  • Curriculum Leadership: Lead the design, review, and integration of clinical training components within the curriculum, strictly adhering to RCI and affiliating university standards.

B. Research and Scholarship

  • Research Leadership: Initiate, lead, and secure funding for research projects in Clinical Psychology, ensuring ethical compliance.
  • Publication: Maintain a strong track record of high-impact publications in peer-reviewed SCI/Scopus/UGC CARE journals.
  • Doctoral Guidance: Guide and supervise research scholars for M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees, contributing significantly to the department's research output.

C. Clinical Practice & Institutional Service

  • RCI Compliance: Act as a resource to ensure all clinical training, departmental practices, and records meet the necessary standards set by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
  • Administration: Lead departmental committees, assist the HOD in strategic planning, academic governance, and institutional accreditation processes (NAAC/NBA).

Required Qualifications & Experience

Essential Education :- M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology or equivalent,

mandated by the RCI. Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology is highly preferred.

MANDATORY Clinical License

Valid and current registration as a Clinical Psychologist with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

Academic Experience :- Minimum 5+ years of full-time academic teaching experience at the college/university level post-M.Phil. or Ph.D.

Skills :- Expertise in psychodiagnostics, psychotherapeutic modalities, statistical analysis, and ethical clinical decision-making.

  • Dual Expertise: Proven high-level competence in both academic instruction and applied RCI-mandated clinical practice.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead research initiatives, mentor faculty, and provide strategic direction for clinical training programs.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of RCI regulations and professional ethics.
