Job Title: HR Generalist Payroll Compliance & HR Operations (Designation- Manager/ Senior Manager)

Location: Colaba, Mumbai

Experience: Minimum 10 years

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist with strong expertise in Payroll Compliance and HR Operations. The ideal candidate will be an individual contributor, comfortable working in small teams, and adept at managing end-to-end HR processes in a dynamic, less structured environment. A pleasant and approachable personality is essential to fit into our collaborative culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Management & Compliance

  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees.
  • Maintain compliance with statutory requirements (PF, ESIC, PT, Gratuity, Bonus Act, etc.).
  • Handle tax deductions (TDS) and coordinate with finance for accurate reporting.
  • Prepare and submit statutory returns and liaise with auditors during compliance checks.

HR Operations

  • Manage complete employee lifecycle: onboarding, documentation, and exit formalities.
  • Maintain HR records and ensure data accuracy in HR Tech systems.
  • Oversee leave and attendance management, ensuring policy adherence.
  • Handle employee queries related to payroll, benefits, and HR policies.

Policy & Process Management

  • Draft and update HR policies in line with labor laws and organizational needs.
  • Conduct periodic compliance audits and recommend improvements.

HR Technology

  • Operate and optimize HR Tech platforms for payroll and HR operations.
  • Generate reports and analytics for management review.

Culture & Engagement

  • Foster a positive work environment and maintain strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Act as a point of contact for employees, ensuring smooth HR operations with a friendly approach.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in HR, focusing on payroll compliance and HR operations.
  • Hands-on experience with HR Tech software (HRMS, payroll systems).
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws and statutory compliance.
  • Ability to work independently as an individual contributor.
  • Experience in small teams or entrepreneurial setups (not large structured organizations).
  • Excellent communication skills and a pleasant, approachable personality.

  • Background: Experience in less structured organizations or entrepreneurial setups.
  • Work Style: Comfortable as an individual contributor and in small teams.
  • Technical Exposure: Proficient in HR Tech platforms and payroll systems.
