Job Summary:

Oversee the payroll function and ensure statutory compliance for the organization, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the payroll function for all employees across locations.
  • Ensure accurate salary processing, including deductions, overtime, variable pay, and incentive.
  • Oversee statutory compliance including PF, ESI, PT, TDS, Gratuity, Bonus, and Labor Welfare Fund.
  • Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and remittances to relevant authorities.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Handle payroll-related queries and grievances of employees.
  • Coordinate with HR, Finance, and Auditors for payroll and compliance matters.
  • Keep updated on amendments to labor laws, tax rules, and statutory requirements.
  • Generate payroll MIS reports and present analytics to senior management.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and labor laws.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (ZingHR) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors / Master's Degree in Commerce, Finance, HR, or related field.
  • 6–10 years of experience in payroll and compliance, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in handling payroll for a large workforce across multiple states is preferred.
