Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Mumbai for a Head of Human Resources. The Head of Human Resources will be responsible for managing the HR department, implementing HR policies, ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws, and maintaining positive employee relations. The role involves developing strategies for talent acquisition, overseeing employee training and development, and addressing HR-related issues and grievances effectively.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Human Resources (HR) Management and Employee Relations
  • Min. 10 yrs experience in HR management
  • Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law and HR Policies
  • Experience in developing and implementing HR strategies
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively on-site in Mumbai
  • Prior experience in the logistics industry is a plus
  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Ability to lead a team of 25 to 30 people
  • Willing to travel 7 to 10 days in a month across India and Bhiwandi

Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership:

  1. Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.

  2. Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.

  3. Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.

Talent Acquisition and Management:

  1. Oversee the recruitment and selection processes to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

  2. Implement effective talent management strategies, including succession planning and career development programs.

Employee Performance and Development:

  1. Develop and implement performance appraisal systems that drive high performance.

  2. Provide coaching, counselling, and career development opportunities to staff.

  3. Identify and implement training programs that support employee development and organizational growth.

Compensation and Benefits:

  1. Design and oversee the implementation of compensation and benefits programs.

  2. Ensure that compensation and benefits programs are competitive and compliant with legal requirements.

  3. Conduct regular market research to ensure the organization's pay structures are aligned with industry standards.

Organizational Development:

  1. Lead initiatives to foster a culture that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and innovation.

  2. Design and implement organizational development programs that enhance employee engagement and organizational performance.

  3. Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues; conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.

Compliance and Legal:

  1. Ensure compliance with all employment-related laws and regulations.

  2. Oversee and manage disciplinary and termination processes.

  3. Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure organization's compliance.

HR Operations:

  1. Oversee HR systems and ensure they meet the needs of the business.

  2. Manage HR budgets and ensure cost-effective utilization of HR resources.

  3. Lead HR projects and initiatives that drive organizational improvement and efficiency.

Change Management:

  1. Partner with leadership to drive organizational change initiatives.

  2. Develop strategies to manage and support change within the organization.

  3. Communicate change management strategies and plans to all levels of the organization.
