Job Summary:

The Vendor Manager will be responsible for managing third-party vendors across banking operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines (including RBI norms), optimizing vendor performance, and mitigating operational risks. The role involves strategic sourcing, contract management, and fostering strong vendor relationships to support the banks operational and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Vendor Strategy & Selection

  • Identify and onboard vendors aligned with banking operational needs (e.g., IT services, facility management, security, logistics).
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessments in line with RBI and internal compliance frameworks.

Contract & Compliance Management

  • Draft, negotiate, and manage vendor contracts and SLAs.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements including outsourcing guidelines, data privacy, and audit readiness.

Performance Monitoring

  • Define KPIs and conduct periodic vendor performance reviews.
  • Maintain vendor scorecards and initiate corrective actions where necessary.

Risk & Governance

  • Monitor vendor-related risks including financial, operational, and reputational risks.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure robust governance.

Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary liaison between vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Build long-term partnerships to drive innovation and cost efficiency.

Process Improvement

  • Streamline vendor management processes using automation and analytics.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives related to vendor lifecycle management.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
  • 5–6 years of experience in vendor management, preferably in banking or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of RBI outsourcing guidelines and banking compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with vendor management systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of contract law, risk management, and procurement best practices.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Operations teams.
