Quality Engineer Audit Documentation

Key Responsibilities:Audit Management:

  • Plan, schedule, and conduct internal quality audits in accordance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and defence QMS requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors (e.g., ISO certification bodies, DGAQA, CEMILAC, DRDO auditors) during surveillance and compliance audits.
  • Track audit findings, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain audit logs, audit trail, and verification records for closure.

Documentation Control:

  • Manage the Document Control System (DCS) for controlled release, revision, and archival of QMS documents including SOPs, WI (Work Instructions), QAPs, ATPs, ITPs, and technical files.
  • Ensure version control, access control, and proper classification of quality documents.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure all documentation is up-to-date and in compliance with project and defence regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for FAI, PPAP, DAP, COC, COPQ, Inspection Reports, etc.

Compliance & QMS Support:

  • Ensure the plant's quality system is in conformance with applicable standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, MIL-STD, DGAQA directives).
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of the QMS through gap analysis, process mapping, and risk assessments.
  • Train internal teams on documentation best practices and audit readiness.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Quality Engineering.
  • 2–6 years of experience in Quality Systems / QMS / Documentation in a defence, aerospace, or high-regulation industry.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D, and/or other defence-related QMS standards.
  • Experience in audit facilitation, documentation management, and regulatory compliance.
