Key responsibilities
- Lead generation: Identify and target new business opportunities across various sectors such as agriculture, construction, and mining.
- Client relationship management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and present proposals and quotations.
- Sales and negotiation: Drive sales, close deals, and negotiate contracts, often with government departments and large corporations.
- Market research: Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory updates related to drone technology.
- Technical collaboration: Work with technical teams to provide tailored solutions and support client needs.
Qualifications and skills
- Education: A bachelor's degree in a related field like engineering, business, or geoinformatics is often preferred.
- Experience: 1-6 years of sales experience, with a preference for experience in technology, drones, or geospatial services.
- Technical knowledge: A basic understanding of drones and their applications is beneficial, especially for roles focused on technical solutions.
- Sales skills: Strong B2B sales, negotiation, and persuasion skills are essential.
- Soft skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are necessary to build rapport with clients.
- Other: Willingness to travel is often required, and experience with government tenders or defense is a plus.
Compensation and work environment
- Salary: Earnings can be a combination of a fixed and variable salary. For example, one role advertised a fixed salary of ₹3-4 Lakhs per annum with a variable component of ₹1-2 Lakhs, leading to a total of ₹5-6 Lakhs per annum.
