RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyzing customers buying patterns and predicting future trends of apparel business
- Visiting fashion shows and trade fairs to look for new products, concepts, trends
- Identifying the new suppliers / vendors & buying the products as per the trends & customers demands
- Negotiating the terms of contract with the suppliers /vendors to ensure the availability of products at best rates & maximum profitability .
- Understanding the sales pattern/ buying habits of offline and online space and manage the demand and supply as per the same.
- Managing the optimum quantities of the products in the stores and warehouse thus minimizing the excess inventory ,in conjunction with the merchandisers.
- Work closely with the business analysis team to formulate current year buying plan based on past trends.
- Training and mentoring the store team in regards to the products
- Consistently connect with the Store sales team to share sales trends and device strategies to improve sales
- Understand competition and trends in each market, to devise strategies
- Create an annual buying plan and project the sales trends
- Design themes and add value for our return customer by adding newness in our categories
Skills & Abilities :
- Creativity Flair
- Fashion sense
- Familiarity with the market trends as regards the category /products.
- Negotiation skills
- Product knowledge
- Strong analytical , numerical & commercial acumen
- Apparel industry education is an advantage
