Neo 4J Core Developer and Administrator
to join their team on a contract basis. These positions offer a strong potential for conversion to full-time employment upon completion of the initial contract period. Below are further details about the role:

Role: Neo 4J Core Developer and Administrator

Experience: 10+ Years

Location: PAN India

Job Description:

Ensure reliability, security, and performance of Neo4j platforms (self-managed and/or cloud)

Operate Neo4j at scale with a focus on high availability, backup/restore, non-production copies/refresh, and cost-efficient capacity management

Required Technical Skills & Acumen

Neo4j Core, Developer Support & Enablement:

• Exposure to graph data modeling, Cypher query design, index/constraint strategies
• Exp in query tuning (EXPLAIN/PROFILE), troubleshoot, and advise on plan stability
• Provide guidelines & templates for schema conventions, APOC usage (governance, whitelisting, performance)
• Build and maintain developer tooling:
• Test containers / docker-compose recipes
• Sample CI pipelines for integration testing
• Graph Data Science (GDS) familiarity, Bloom basics
• Consult on integration patterns: drivers, routing table updates, retry/backoff, idempotency, streaming/connectors (e.g., Kafka Connect)

Architecture & Platform Ownership

• Design and maintain Neo4j Enterprise topologies: (single instance & causal clustering)
• Causal cluster (Raft) with 3+ core members; optional secondaries/read-replicas
• Multi-region or multi-DC patterns
• Routing drivers for read/write separation and load balancing
• Define consumption patterns: self-managed vs Neo4j Aura vs managed Kubernetes
• Multi-database management/usage (prod, staging, tenants)
• Fabric (federation) for cross-database querying
• Establish SLAs/SLOs for availability, query latency, and recovery

Operations, Reliability & Performance

• Administer configuration: heap/page cache sizing, warmup, G1GC, kernel/IO tuning
• Capacity planning: CPU/memory/IOPS, storage growth, shard/fabric strategy
• Observability: JMX/Prometheus exporters, Grafana dashboards, Datadog, CloudWatch/Azure Monitor
• Log aggregation (ELK/Opensearch), correlation for query/GC/OS metrics
• Metrics & logs via JMX/Prometheus; dashboards (Grafana, Datadog, cloud tools)
• Alerts: leader flaps, raft lag, GC pressure, slow queries, checkpoint duration, disk thresholds
• Perform rolling upgrades, compatibility checks, canary plans, fallback procedures
• Data Protection: Backup, Restore, DR - Backup/restore (neo4j-admin), consistency checks
• Scheduled online backups (full/incremental)
• Offline backups for maintenance
• Encryption, compression, retention, immutability
• Restore & PITR (point-in-time recovery): Verified restores to new database names
• Consistency checks, checksum validation, Documented RPO/RTO, quarterly DR drills
• Manage schema migrations and data repair procedures

Non-Production Copies & Refresh

• Automate masked refreshes from production to non-prod (DEV/TEST/UAT)
• Data sampling for large graphs
• PII,senstive info masking
• Maintain catalog of golden datasets for reproducible testing

Security & Compliance

• Implement RBAC, TLS, certificate management
• Integrate authentication/SSO (LDAP/AD, SAML/OIDC)
• Enforce least privilege, audit logs, access reviews
• Data governance: retention, masking, legal hold workflows

Automation & Platform Engineering

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), config as code, GitOps workflows
• Kubernetes/Helm or VM automation (Ansible) for cluster provisioning
• CI/CD: blue/green or rolling schema/data migrations
• Cost optimization: right-sizing nodes, storage tiers, cloud egress
