Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a General Manager at Lyfe Hotels & Resorts in Bhubaneswar. The General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel, including managing staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining a high standard of service. Some of the key responsibilities are outlined below -

  • Financial Performance:

Achieve revenue targets and profitability goals set for the hotel.

Manage and control operating costs to optimize profitability.

Implement strategies to increase average daily rate (ADR) and occupancy rates.

Monitor financial statements, budgets, and financial performance indicators.

  • Guest Satisfaction and Service Quality:

Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction by maintaining excellent service standards.

Monitor guest feedback and reviews to identify areas for improvement.

Develop and implement guest service initiatives to enhance the overall guest experience.

Maintain a culture of exceptional customer service among the staff.

  • Operational Efficiency:

Oversee day-to-day hotel operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.

Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance operational efficiency.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operations, such as room occupancy, RevPAR, and F&B revenue.

Identify and address operational challenges to improve productivity and guest experience.

  • Team Management and Development:

Lead and manage a diverse team of hotel staff, including department heads.

Set performance expectations and provide regular feedback to ensure high team performance.

Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration.

Develop training and development programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.

  • Sales and Marketing:

Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue and achieve sales targets.

Build and maintain relationships with key clients, corporate accounts, and travel agencies.

Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify business opportunities.

Oversee the hotel's online presence, digital marketing, and social media strategies.

  • Quality and Safety Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, hotel policies, and safety standards.

Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to maintain high service and product standards.

Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement.

Manage crisis situations effectively and implement risk management strategies.

Qualifications

  • Hotel Management, Operations Management, and Staff Supervision skills
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Financial management and budgeting skills
  • Customer service and guest relations skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Twenty years plus previous experience in the hospitality industry
  • Presently must be serving in General Manager's role in a five star business hotel of reputed brand/s for not less than 5 years.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or related field
