Job Description – Production Planning EngineerPosition Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Production Planning Engineer to join our MEWP manufacturing operations. The role is pivotal in planning and monitoring production activities, ensuring ISO documentation compliance, maintaining shop floor and factory-wide standards, and driving safety adherence. The Production Planning Engineer will also be responsible for improving production efficiency through the development and implementation of fixtures, incorporating process improvements, and acting as the nodal authority to ensure production timelines are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities Production Planning & Execution

· Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production plans aligned with customer requirements and delivery schedules.

· Monitor production progress and ensure adherence to planned timelines.

· Coordinate with procurement, design,quality and stores teams to ensure material and resource availability.

· Act as the nodal authority to resolve bottlenecks and ensure production deadlines are achieved.

ISO Documentation & Compliance

· Prepare, maintain, and update all production-related ISO documentation (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, etc.).

· Ensure readiness for internal and external audits by maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives in line with ISO standards.

Shop Floor & Factory Compliance

· Ensure shop floor processes comply with company policies, industry standards, and statutory requirements.

· Drive adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all production stages.

· Monitor and enforce overall factory compliance, including safety and environmental standards.

Safety & Contractor Liaison

· Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols and statutory requirements on the shop floor.

· Liaise with labour contractors to ensure workforce availability, discipline, and adherence to safety norms.

· Conduct toolbox talks, safety drills, and awareness sessions for contract and permanent staff.

Process Improvement & Efficiency

· Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce downtime.

· Develop and implement fixtures, jigs, and tools to enhance productivity and quality.

· Incorporate process developments and best practices to optimize manufacturing operations.

Monitoring & Reporting

· Track production KPIs (efficiency, utilization, downtime, output) and prepare regular reports for management.

· Highlight deviations from the production plan and recommend corrective measures.

· Support root cause analysis for production delays or non-conformities.

Qualifications & Experience

· Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering (or equivalent).

· 3–6 years of experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment (MEWP, heavy equipment, or automotive industry preferred).

· Strong knowledge of ISO standards and documentation practices.

· Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for production planning.

· Good understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements.

· Experience in fixture/jig design and implementation preferred.
