About the role

Reporting to the Head of Growth Marketing, this pivotal role is responsible for driving brand visibility and qualified traffic through traditional search engines and AI-powered search platforms. It's a high-impact, hands-on position focused on ensuring Skan AI's content, brand, and solutions are discovered, cited, and recommended by both Google and emerging AI systems, building a sustainable engine for organic discovery that delivers measurable pipeline impact.

You'll develop and execute strategies to optimize Skan AI's content and technical infrastructure for maximum visibility in traditional search (Google, Bing) and AI platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude), owning everything from technical optimization and content strategy to performance analysis. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in the details but also connects the dots at a strategic level. You bring deep expertise in how both traditional search engines and AI systems surface and cite information, with a passion for accelerating growth in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy, planning, and execution of Skan AI's SEO and AEO/GEO programs to maximize visibility across traditional and AI search platforms and LLM-generated responses.
  • Identify high-impact search queries and AI prompts in target markets, then optimize content architecture and structured data to maximize visibility in both traditional search rankings and AI citations.
  • Partner with product marketing and content teams to ensure alignment on ICP targeting, messaging hierarchy, and answer-ready content formats.
  • Equip content teams with data-driven insights on high-impact queries, competitor positioning in AI responses, and content gaps.
  • Design and implement schema markup strategies (FAQs, HowTos, Q&As, Organization, Product) to improve AI platform recognition and citation.
  • Collaborate closely with demand generation to ensure AI-driven organic traffic converts efficiently through optimized landing pages and nurture paths.
  • Build and optimize scalable workflows for content optimization, ensuring domain authority, entity clarity, and citation-worthy formatting across all owned properties.
  • Work with marketing ops to build and maintain performance dashboards tracking AI visibility, citation frequency, traffic quality, and pipeline attribution from AI-driven channels.
  • Deliver regular performance updates to senior leadership, sharing insights on AI search trends and actionable recommendations for improving organic discovery.
  • Manage budget allocation for tools, content production, and experiments to ensure every dollar drives maximum visibility and revenue impact.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of SEO and content strategy in fast-paced B2B SaaS or tech environments, with proven AEO/GEO experience and results.
  • Exceptional content instincts with the ability to craft, edit, and optimize compelling copy that resonates with both AI systems and human readers.
  • Proven track record of improving brand visibility in SEO and AI-generated responses and featured snippets across multiple platforms.
  • Experience in optimizing for AI search platforms including ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Bing Copilot, and Gemini.
  • Deep understanding of structured data implementation, entity SEO, and how LLMs retrieve and cite information.
  • Strong technical proficiency with CMS platforms (HubSpot, WordPress, Webflow) and hands-on experience implementing on-page optimizations, schema markup, and technical SEO improvements.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript sufficient to implement and troubleshoot technical changes without heavy developer dependency.
  • Experience with tools like Google Search Console, schema testing platforms, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and AI visibility tracking tools (Profound, Scrunch, etc)
  • Strong collaborator with content and product marketing teams to align on strategy and ensure flawless execution.
  • Experienced in configuring tracking and measuring performance using Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, UTMs, and AI-specific visibility metrics.
  • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, able to balance strategic thinking and hands-on technical execution.
  • Highly analytical and data-driven, with a proven ability to identify patterns in AI search behavior and optimize accordingly.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to translate complex technical concepts and present actionable, data-driven insights to senior leadership.
