About the job:

We are seeking a skilled
SmartCOMM Developer
to design, develop, and implement customer communication and form solutions. You will work closely with product managers, developers, QA, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality SmartCOMM templates, data models, and integrations—primarily supporting Personal Lines and Claims use cases in the insurance domain.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in requirement calls to gather functional and technical requirements.
  • Provide effort estimates and development plans for assigned tasks.
  • Design and implement
    SmartCOMM templates, data models, and communication artefacts
    .
  • Perform code/configuration changes and implement communication customizations.
  • Execute unit testing and Pre-Prod (Sandbox) validations; support QA testing cycles.
  • Triage and resolve defects raised by QA for Personal Lines forms and General Claims.
  • Integrate
    SmartCOMM outputs with Guidewire Policy/Billing and other backend systems
    .
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder communications.
  • Prepare technical documentation and handover notes for deployments.

Requirements:

  • 4–6 years of hands-on experience as a
    SmartCOMM Developer
    .
  • Practical experience with Guidewire Policy (config/integration) and Guidewire Billing.
  • Strong understanding of the
    SmartCOMM communication lifecycle: template design → data model changes → testing → deployment
    .
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Good To Have:

Candidates with these additional skills on their resumes have an added advantage when their profiles are being assessed. Some of them are as follows:

  • Experience with JIRA, ServiceNow, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins / Azure DevOps).
  • Cloud exposure (AWS / Azure) and experience integrating testing with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Guidewire experience across Personal & Commercial lines.
  • SmartCOMM or Guidewire certifications.
