Job Purpose:

To ensure a safe working environment at Chakan Plant 1 by implementing and monitoring safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety and compliance across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Program Implementation

  • Develop and enforce health and safety policies and procedures in line with company and regulatory standards.

  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national safety regulations (including OSHA and ISO standards).

Training & Awareness

  • Organize and lead safety training sessions for employees, contractors, and visitors.

  • Promote safety awareness through campaigns, toolbox talks, and visual management.

  • Maintain training records and ensure timely refreshers.

Incident Management

  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses.

  • Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

  • Maintain incident logs and safety performance metrics.

Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with department heads and HR to ensure safety integration across functions.

  • Conduct safety committee meetings and represent the plant in external safety forums.

  • Coordinate emergency preparedness drills and response plans.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and safety equipment.

  • Ensure availability and proper functioning of PPE and safety gear.

  • Stay updated with industry best practices and regulatory changes.

Preferred candidate profile

  • 35 years of experience in industrial safety, preferably in a manufacturing setup.

  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, hazard identification, and risk mitigation.

  • Proficient in MS Office and safety management systems.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
