Job Summary:

We are seeking a Mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to oversee and optimize all mechanical systems within our data center. The role involves managing HVAC, chillers, and cooling infrastructure to ensure continuous uptime and operational efficiency. The SME will drive capacity planning, preventive maintenance, and energy optimization while ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage HVAC, chillers, and cooling systems ensuring 24/7 uptime and optimal performance.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance, inspections, and system upgrades for mechanical infrastructure.
  • Conduct capacity planning and implement energy-efficient cooling solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with data center standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead emergency response and troubleshooting for mechanical system failures.
  • Manage vendor contracts and maintenance operations.
  • Train and guide technical teams on mechanical systems and safety protocols.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Masters preferred).
  • 12+ years of experience managing mechanical systems in data centers.
  • Strong expertise in HVAC, CRAC/CRAH units, and cooling optimization.
  • Experience with DCIM tools and green/sustainable data center practices.
  • Certifications such as CDCS, CDCDP, or CDCMP preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
