The function begins from mail room packing and dispatch right up to delivering the newspaper to the reader. It is responsible for enabling more and better audience aggregation and for driving newer revenue streams from reader engagement. This is done by reaching out to different segments and expanding the horizons onto new ventures.

A) Depot & Distribution Management

  • Supervise daily depot operations, including distribution oversight, pullout insertion, and last-mile delivery.
  • Ensure timely presence and performance of Executives and ADSAs at each depot.
  • Step in to manage depot operations in the absence of key team members.
  • Conduct surprise checks to maintain depot discipline and accountability.
  • Collaborate with Executives to ensure timely, secure product handling and real-time updates to senior management.
  • Manage high-pressure situations such as late deliveries or festive demand with proactive vendor coordination.
  • Oversee coupon collection, vendor settlements, and incentive disbursals with accurate documentation.
  • Finalize daily print orders in consultation with team members.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with local trade unions to ensure smooth operations.

B) Field Sales & Business Development

  • Lead daily field activities, including door-to-door campaigns and targeted sales initiatives.
  • Track daily sales calls and ensure desired order closures.
  • Drive subscription renewals and manage expiries effectively.
  • Target high-potential areas such as commercial zones, colleges, hostels, PGs, and educational institutes.
  • Participate in client meetings for sponsorship opportunities and corporate tie-ups.
  • Train and guide DSAs and ADSAs to enhance field productivity.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of any reader complaints or service issues.

C) Performance Monitoring & Strategic Planning

  • Identify underperforming depots and take corrective actions to improve DSP performance.
  • Monitor subscription expiry reports and guide the team for proactive renewals.
  • Submit accurate daily print orders and field performance reports.
  • Track and report competitor activity in the region.
  • Review AOP targets vs actual performance and strategize corrective actions.
  • Address technology-related concerns from field teams and escalate for resolution.
  • Complete all required reports and formats in collaboration with the assigned team.
