Position: Automation Test Lead – POS

Location: Bangalore

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Lead to oversee test automation strategy, design, and execution for our Point of Sale (POS) systems. The role involves leading a team of test engineers, defining automation frameworks, and ensuring high-quality delivery of POS software and integrated retail solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in test automation, POS domain expertise, and leadership experience in agile environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the test automation strategy for POS applications (front-end, back-end, and integrations).
  • Lead and mentor a team of automation engineers to deliver high-quality test solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for POS (UI, API, and device-level testing).
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and QA teams to define test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure robust test coverage for POS functionalities including transactions, payments, receipts, inventory, and promotions.
  • Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.
  • Work with hardware simulators and real POS devices to validate software and peripheral integrations (printers, scanners, card readers, etc.).
  • Track and report test metrics, automation coverage, and defect trends.
  • Drive best practices in test automation, coding standards, and tool selection.
  • Support performance, regression, and security testing for POS systems.
  • Act as a point of contact for QA automation initiatives with stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of QA/testing experience with at least 4+ years in automation leadership.
  • Strong experience with POS systems (retail, hospitality, or payments domain).
  • Expertise in automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with API automation.
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Knowledge of databases on SQL for test data setup and validation.
  • Familiarity with payment integrations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
