Role Overview
The HR Manager will oversee the full employee lifecyclemanaging recruitment, engagement, compliance, payroll, and strategic workforce planning. This role requires a deep understanding of HR in a manufacturing setup, strong compliance knowledge, and the ability to balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for production, QA/QC, R&D, maintenance, and corporate roles.
- Build talent pipelines through partnerships with local technical institutes, universities, and specialized recruiters.
- Enhance employer branding to attract skilled talent in the manufacturing and life sciences sectors.
Employee Engagement & Development
- Design and implement plant-friendly engagement activities for both blue-collar and white-collar employees.
- Conduct training needs analysis and coordinate learning programs covering CGMP, safety protocols, and soft skills.
- Manage performance appraisals aligned to production KPIs, quality benchmarks, and compliance standards.
Compliance & Policy Management
- Ensure 100% compliance with Indian labor laws, Gujarat state labor regulations, and CGMP guidelines.
- Maintain audit-ready HR documentation for internal and external inspections.
- Develop and enforce HR policies, handling grievances and disciplinary actions with fairness and confidentiality.
Payroll & HR Operations
- Oversee payroll processing, including shift allowance, overtime, PF, ESIC, and professional tax deductions.
- Manage attendance and leave systems through HRMS and biometric solutions.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date employee records.
Strategic HR Planning
- Partner with leadership for manpower forecasting, succession planning, and organizational design.
- Drive change management for new product lines, process automation, and export-driven business expansion.
- Recommend HR initiatives that improve retention, productivity, and compliance readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 58 years in HR, including at least 3 years in a managerial role within manufacturing, FMCG, or life sciences.
- Strong knowledge of Factory Act, labor law compliance, PF/ESIC regulations, and CGMP HR practices.
- Proficiency in HRMS, MS Office, and payroll software.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- High integrity in handling confidential information.
