Responsibilities:
Position Purpose:
We are looking for a curious and committed individual to join our Financial Payment Operations team. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of cross-border payments. You'll rotate among different teams of the department and learn how global transactions are processed, settled, and reconciled, while also supporting the back-office functions that ensure operational accuracy and compliance. Through mentorship and real-world exposure, you'll develop a strong foundation in financial operations and gain insight into the systems and processes that power international payments.
Roles and Responsibilities (but not limited to)
- Support settlement activities, including payment instruction validations, confirmation matching and exception handling.
- Process and monitor payments across various currencies and systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Investigate payment discrepancies, delays, or failures, and escalate issues as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of payment instructions, confirmations, and reconciliations.
- Reconcile transactions between internal systems and external counterparties or banks.
- Liaise with internal teams (e.g. Treasury, Trading Desk, Risk, Client Services) and external partners (e.g. banks or vendors) to resolve operational issues.
- Contribute to process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting enhancements.
- Support system testing and implementation of new tools or upgrades related to payment workflows.
- Prepare reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders on payment volumes, errors, and KPIs.
