Job Title:

MS SQL DBA Engineer Cloud Migration Specialist (Client: Confidential)

Job Overview:

We are hiring for our confidential client — looking for an experienced MS SQL DBA Engineer to manage, optimize, and migrate enterprise-level SQL databases to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate should have a strong background in SQL Server administration, database performance tuning, and hands-on experience with cloud migrations (Azure GCP or on-prem Cloud).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain SQL Server databases (2016–2022).
  • Design, implement, and execute database migration strategies (Azure GCP / On-Prem Cloud).
  • Optimize database performance using indexing, query tuning, and refactoring techniques.
  • Develop and maintain T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, and views.
  • Implement and monitor backup/restore, replication, and Always-On configurations.
  • Work with GCP services – Cloud SQL, Compute Engine, IAM, Storage, VPC.
  • Automate DBA tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate database CI/CD pipelines.

Required Skills & Experience:

5+ years of experience in SQL Server administration & development

Strong understanding of Azure SQL and GCP Cloud SQL environments

Proficiency in T-SQL, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning

Hands-on experience with backup/restore, replication, Always-On

Familiar with PowerShell / Python / Bash scripting

Understanding of GCP IAM, VPC, and monitoring tools

Nice to Have:

Experience with Google Database Migration Service (DMS) or CloudEndure

Familiarity with Terraform / Ansible for automation

Certifications – Google Cloud Professional Database Engineer, Microsoft Certified Azure DBA

Education:

B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
