Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled MS SQL DBA with 5 to 10 years of experience to manage, maintain, and optimize our SQL Server databases. You will be responsible for designing and optimizing stored procedures and queries, continuously monitoring performance, enhancing security measures, and addressing various database and server configuration issues. This role requires expertise in defining backup/restore strategies, resource monitoring, and comprehensive documentation management. Roles & Responsibilities: - Design and provide inputs to optimize stored procedures and queries based on system performance to reduce server load. - Monitor performance continuously and take immediate measures based on the analysis of current system behavior. - Conduct in-depth analysis of current server configuration and identify requirements to improve performance, particularly in database settings. - Enhance security measures to ensure data privacy and information security. - Address issues related to DB configuration, server configuration, partitioning, and indexing by applying industry best practices/standards. - Define Server Health Policies like Temp DB configuration, and analyze server configuration based on user base, CPU utilization, etc. - Execute SQL software/patch upgrades and technical initiatives. - Perform resource (CPU, memory, IO & network) monitoring and management. - Handle Ad-hoc requests from the business for DM and reporting extraction based on request type. - Define DB backup and restore strategy and archiving. - Manage documentation on installation, server build, migration, and infrastructure dependency setting/configuration. - Manage access based on Role and Responsibility (RnR) and participate in Audits for Access management. - Create and periodically track DB maintenance plans for Backup, Update Statistics, Indexing, and DBCC integrity. Skills Required: - Expertise as a Microsoft SQL DBA. - Strong knowledge of designing and optimizing stored procedures and queries. - Proficiency in continuous performance monitoring and analysis. - Ability to conduct in-depth analysis of server configurations. - Experience in enhancing security measures for data privacy. - Expertise in addressing issues related to DB configuration, server configuration, partitioning, and indexing. - Skill in defining Server Health Policies and managing CPU utilization. - Experience with SQL software/patch upgrades and technical initiatives. - Strong knowledge of resource monitoring and management. - Ability to define DB backup and restore strategy and archiving. - Proficiency in documentation management for installation, server build, migration, and infrastructure. - Experience with access management and participation in audits. - Strong skills in creating and tracking DB maintenance plans. QUALIFICATION: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
