Role and Responsibilities As an Academic Counsellor, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to students in their academic journey. Your tasks will include:
  • Conducting one-on-one counseling sessions to understand students' educational aspirations and career goals.
  • Helping students explore different academic pathways and assisting them in making informed decisions about their future.
  • Providing information about various academic programs, courses, and universities to students and their parents.
  • Assessing students' interests, skills, and abilities to recommend suitable academic and career options.
  • Assisting students in filling out college applications, preparing for entrance exams, and completing financial aid paperwork.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student interactions and progress, ensuring confidentiality and privacy.
  • Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to address students' academic and personal challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest trends in education, scholarships, and career opportunities.
Candidate Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should possess:
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in education, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in academic counseling or a similar role, preferably in an educational institution.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and their parents.
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to empathize with students' concerns and challenges.
  • Knowledge of different academic and career options, entrance exams, and admission processes.
  • Good organizational skills to manage multiple students and their individual needs.
