Qualifications & Experience:
· Graduate/Post Graduate in any discipline (MBA preferred).
· 8–12 years of experience in mutual fund sales or distribution management, preferably handling the MFD/IFA channel.
· Strong knowledge of mutual fund products, channel dynamics, and regulatory environment.
· Proven experience in team management and relationship-driven sales.
· AMFI/NISM Certification (mandatory).
Role Purpose:
To drive business growth through the Mutual Fund Distributor (MFD) channel by developing and executing sales strategies, strengthening distributor relationships, and ensuring achievement of AUM and market share targets for the assigned geography. The role involves managing a team of Relationship Managers and working closely with the Regional Head to achieve business objectives.
Principal Accountabilities & Supporting Actions:
1. Channel Sales Management
· Drive sales across mutual fund products by engaging regularly with all MFDs in the assigned region.
· Recommend and execute channel-specific strategies in alignment with the Regional Head to achieve business goals.
· Roll out sales strategies and track performance on market share, gross sales, and AUM growth.
· Plan and oversee initiatives to expand the distributor base and ensure achievement of AUM and market share targets.
2. Channel Activation and Growth
· Lead empanelment and activation of new MFDs to enhance business penetration and sales volumes.
· Drive loyalty and upgrade initiatives within the MFD privileged club.
· Engage with IFAs to reactivate dormant relationships and onboard new ones.
· Partner with banks and distribution networks to enhance company's positioning as a preferred AMC.
· Implement segmentation strategies to tailor engagement for different distributor profiles.
3. Distributor Engagement
· Meet key distributors regularly to identify potential for higher business contribution.
· Disseminate timely updates, product information, and marketing collateral to distributors.
· Drive distributor engagement programs and ensure effective communication of sales initiatives.
· Ensure availability of publicity and marketing materials to distributors in a timely manner.
4. Business Development Support
· Collaborate with the Business Development (BD) team to share market feedback and implement agreed action plans.
· Design and execute events, contests, and promotional activities to enhance brand visibility and engagement among distributors.
5. Compliance & Reporting
· Ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements related to information sharing, application processing, and publicity.
· Ensure timely renewal and compliance of required certification for all team members.
· Submit accurate sales reports and performance metrics to the Regional and Zonal Head.
· Maintain up-to-date sales information and data accuracy on internal sales portals.
6. Team & People Management
· Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to team members to enhance productivity and capability.
· Review consolidated reports, monitor weekly performance of Relationship Managers, and implement corrective measures where required.
· Foster a high-performance culture through continuous engagement, recognition, and accountability.
