Executive Summary

We are launching a full-spectrum digital transformation consulting firm offering services across AI, cloud, CRM, QA/QE, blockchain, and custom software development. We're seeking a founding Assistant Vice President of Technology to lead our technical vision, oversee project delivery, and drive client engagement. This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on executionideal for someone who can build and scale a tech organization from scratch.

As a true "player-coach" and client-facing technologist, the VP of Technology will work directly with clients and internal teams, shaping innovative solutions, leading proposals and demos, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-impact projects. This role requires a strong foundation in technology consulting, solution selling, and leadership.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Founder/CEO, the Assistant Vice President of Technology is a critical leadership role responsible for:

  • Defining the technical vision and architecture
  • Building and mentoring a cross-functional delivery team
  • Leading complex client projects
  • Supporting sales efforts through solutioning and technical presentations

This is a hands-on leadership role that demands strong consulting instincts, deep technical skills, and the ability to operate across pre-sales, delivery, and client relationship management. Experience working with U.S. and European clients is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Lead: Develop and articulate the firms overall technology vision and roadmap.

  • Define scalable, secure, and efficient architectures for client solutions.
  • Monitor emerging technologies to inform service offerings and innovation.
  • Align technical initiatives with business goals and manage tech budgets.

Hands-on Technical Execution

  • Architect and prototype client solutions; provide direct technical oversight and guidance.
  • Lead or review complex codebases and system designs when required.
  • Conduct and oversee POCs and high-level solutioning engagements.

Team Leadership & Growth

  • Build and mentor a high-performing technical team (developers, engineers, data scientists, QA, etc.).
  • Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and technical excellence.
  • Define career paths, performance frameworks, and development plans.

Project Delivery Excellence

  • Oversee the successful delivery of projectson time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Define and implement Agile-based methodologies, processes, and tools.
  • Optimize resource allocation and delivery velocity across multiple workstreams.

Client Engagement & Business Development

  • Participate in pre-sales calls and discovery sessions; present technical solutions to prospective clients.
  • Translate business needs into compelling technical proposals and presentations.
  • Partner with sales and marketing teams on lead conversion and account growth.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients throughout the engagement lifecycle.

Security, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure data privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA).
  • Establish protocols for risk identification and mitigation across delivery operations.
  • Manage third-party vendors and platforms for technical performance and compliance.

Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Masters preferred).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Salesforce, PMP, CISSP) are a strong plus.

Experience

  • 10-15+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles.
  • At least 5+ years in a client-facing IT consulting environment.
  • Proven hands-on contribution to architecture, engineering, and/or solution design.
  • Strong history of building and scaling high-performing tech teams and delivery operations.
  • Demonstrated success in leading complex multi-technology projects.
  • Experience in pre-sales, proposal creation, solution demos, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Experience working with U.S. and European clients is highly preferred.

Technical Proficiency

A well-rounded technology leader ("consulting polymath") with experience across:

  • Cloud & DevOps: AWS, Azure, CI/CD pipelines, cloud migration, governance, cost optimization
  • AI & Data Science: ML/AI models, big data, RPA, data visualization, BI, data engineering
  • Software Development: Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL, enterprise architecture, mobile development
  • CRM Platforms: Salesforce implementation, customization, and data migration
  • QA/QE: Test automation frameworks, performance/load testing, QA strategy
  • Blockchain: Awareness of enterprise applications and integration considerations
  • Project Delivery: Agile methodologies, system design, API integrations, technical PM best practices
  • Security: Cybersecurity, data privacy, regulatory compliance, vendor management
