The Delivery Manager is a critical leadership role within a global technology services organization, responsible for the successful delivery of complex technological solutions to clients in the Sports and Entertainment sector. This individual will lead a diverse team of 100+ professionals across various functions, including program management, technical delivery, resource management, PMO, and client-facing roles. The Delivery Manager will drive profitability, client satisfaction, and operational excellence while fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and high-performance delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program and Delivery Management:
- Program Delivery Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of client programs, ensuring that technical, delivery, and resource management teams collaborate effectively to meet client objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Client-Centric Delivery: Be the main point of contact for senior client stakeholders, providing strategic guidance and direction for successful program execution and ensuring alignment with client goals.
- Resource Management: Manage and cost resources for client projects, proposing sophisticated team structures that balance client needs with profitability goals for the company.
- Client Profitability: Drive profitability by managing client program finances, ensuring that projects are delivered within budget, with optimal utilization of resources, and meeting client expectations.
2. Financial Oversight and Proposal Management:
- Costing and Pricing Strategy: Work closely with the sports business management team to ensure accurate costing of resources and develop competitive and profitable proposals.
- Proposal Development and RFPs: Lead the proposal process, ensuring that delivery aspects of the proposal, including resource planning, timelines, and margins, are carefully evaluated and aligned with client needs.
- Profitability Management: Focus on maintaining and improving the profitability of client programs by evaluating cost structures, optimizing resource allocations, and managing program margins.
3. Team Leadership and Development:
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and empower a high-performance delivery team of 100+ professionals, including project managers, technical experts, delivery managers, resource managers, and PMO personnel.
- Talent Development: Foster a culture of continuous growth, learning, and career progression within the India delivery team, promoting knowledge sharing, upskilling, and leadership development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams across recruitment, onboarding, HR, legal, finance, vertical heads, and business management to ensure seamless project delivery and team support.
4. Stakeholder Management:
- C-Level Client Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with senior client stakeholders (C-suite), influencing decisions and providing strategic input for the success of ongoing and future programs.
- Senior Leadership Presentations: Regularly present to senior leadership teams within the organization and to C-level client stakeholders on the progress, health, and financials of client programs.
- Client Relationship Management: Ensure the successful growth of client relationships through the delivery of high-quality solutions, which could lead to expansion and increased sales opportunities.
5. Sales Enablement and Growth:
- Delivery-Led Sales Support: Collaborate with the India APAC Sales Head to identify and pursue new business opportunities, ensuring that delivery-led sales initiatives align with the strategic goals of the organization.
- Business Development: Proactively contribute to business growth by leading delivery-led sales efforts, helping craft solutions, and leveraging delivery excellence as a differentiator in new client acquisitions.
6. Time Zone and Global Collaboration:
- US Time Zone Overlap: Be available for meetings and collaboration with the US-based teams and clients during US Eastern time zone hours (at least until noontime on working days).
- Global Coordination: Collaborate with global teams across different time zones to ensure consistency in delivery, alignment in objectives, and the sharing of best practices.
7. Travel and Client Interaction:
- Travel: Regular travel required to other India locations and occasionally to client offices in India and internationally.
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients face-to-face when required, strengthening client relationships and overseeing the delivery of large-scale programs.
Key Requirements:
- Delivery Expertise: Minimum 15+ years of experience in technology services with a strong background in managing large, complex client programs in the sports and entertainment sector.
- Program Management: Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams for the successful delivery of technology solutions, with an emphasis on client satisfaction, time, and cost management.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead large teams (100+ people), with experience in managing technical, delivery, and resource management functions.
- Financial Acumen: Strong knowledge of program costing, pricing, and financial management, with experience ensuring project profitability and cost optimization.
- Client Relationship Management: Extensive experience in managing senior client relationships, including C-suite stakeholders, with a focus on program delivery and growth.
- Proposal Management: Expertise in developing and evaluating proposals and RFP responses, with attention to detail on resource plans, timelines, margins, and pricing.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with recruitment, HR, legal, finance, and other internal teams to support business operations and delivery.
