Position Overview
The Director of Engineering Management is responsible for the overall planning, execution, and delivery of the company's civil engineering projects, leading the engineering team to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and with high quality. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and strategic vision to support the company's engineering management decisions and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management and Execution
Responsible for the overall planning, schedule control, resource allocation, and execution oversight of all the company's civil engineering projects.
Ensure that construction plans, design drawings, and material selection comply with standards, specifications, and contract requirements.
Supervise site engineers and construction teams to ensure construction quality and safety.
Team Leadership and Training
Lead and mentor the engineering team, including civil engineers, structural engineers, and site engineers.
Provide technical training and professional development support to enhance the team's overall professional level.
Quality and Safety Management
Develop and oversee the project quality management system to ensure construction complies with national and industry standards.
Manage the implementation of construction safety regulations, assessing and mitigating potential risks.
Budget and Cost Control
Prepare project budgets, monitor cost expenditures, and optimize resource utilization.
Collaborate with the finance department to ensure project profitability and cost-effectiveness.
Client and Stakeholder Management
Maintain communication with clients, contractors, and government agencies to ensure clear requirements and smooth execution.
Provide project progress reports, risk analysis, and improvement recommendations.
Strategic Planning and Business Development
Assist senior management in developing engineering development strategies and expansion plans.
Participate in new project bidding, technical feasibility assessments, and business decision support.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Experience: At least 10 years of experience in civil engineering and infrastructure project management, with at least 3 years of team management experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, AutoCAD, Revit)
Solid knowledge of civil engineering techniques, familiarity with construction codes and industry standards
Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-departmental coordination skills
Budget management, cost control, and risk management skills
Certifications: PE/Chartered Engineer preferred; PMP or similar project management certification a plus.
Personal Qualifications: Initiative, strong sense of responsibility, strong ability to handle stress, and strong strategic thinking skills.
