Solar Sales Representative – Job Roles & Responsibilities1. Lead Generation & Prospecting

  • Identify potential residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads through networking, referrals, cold calls, and digital outreach.
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities.

  • Customer Engagement & Relationship Building

  • Educate customers about solar energy benefits, cost savings, and environmental impact.

  • Develop strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Conduct site visits to assess solar feasibility.

  • Sales Presentations & Proposals

  • Deliver persuasive sales presentations (in-person/online).

  • Prepare customized solar system proposals, including ROI and payback period.
  • Explain financing, subsidies, and government incentives available.

  • Negotiation & Closing Deals

  • Address customer objections with effective solutions.

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing.
  • Ensure timely signing of agreements and smooth handover to operations team.

  • Coordination with Technical & Operations Teams

  • Work closely with design/engineering teams to ensure feasibility of proposals.

  • Coordinate with project managers for installation timelines.
  • Ensure smooth customer onboarding.

  • Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare and maintain accurate sales records and CRM updates.

  • Ensure all regulatory, compliance, and incentive documents are correctly processed.
  • Track sales targets and prepare weekly/monthly reports.

  • After-Sales Support

  • Follow up with customers post-installation for satisfaction.

  • Assist in warranty, service, or maintenance queries.
  • Encourage referrals and testimonials.

  • Sales Targets & KPIs

  • Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets.

  • Monitor KPIs such as conversion rate, average deal size, and customer acquisition cost.
  • Continuously improve sales strategies to meet goals.

  • Training & Market Awareness

  • Stay updated on solar technology, market trends, and competitor offerings.

  • Participate in training programs and industry events.
  • Educate customers on new product launches or upgrades.
