Position Title: Plant HeadDepartment: Manufacturing OperationsLocation: Kosi, Mathura, U.P.Reports To: COO / CEO1. Role SummaryThe Plant Head will lead the end-to-end operations of a 2.4 GW Solar Cell Manufacturing Plant, ensuring high-efficiency production, quality excellence, EHS compliance, cost optimization, and continuous process improvement. This role requires deep technical understanding of solar cell manufacturing processes (Texturization, Diffusion, PECVD, Metallization, Firing, Testing & Sorting) and strong leadership to drive operational excellence and cross-functional alignment.2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Production & Operational ExcellenceLead complete plant operations to achieve monthly and annual  production targets of 2.4 GW capacity .Ensure process control across all cell manufacturing stages:Wafer Inspection → Texturing → Diffusion → PECVD → Metallization → Firing → Laser Cutting → Cell Testing & Sorting .Optimize plant OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and minimize downtime.Monitor yield performance and drive continuous improvements in efficiency and bin distribution.Review daily, weekly & monthly production MIS and take corrective decisions.B. Quality & ReliabilityEnsure adherence to quality standards:  IEC 61215, IEC 61730 , and customer-specific technical requirements.Strengthen inline and offline QA systems to reduce rejects, scrap, and rework.Drive root-cause analysis (8D, DMAIC) for quality deviations.Implement and monitor SPC, FMEA, and CAPA frameworks across processes.C. Equipment, Maintenance & TechnologyOversee maintenance (electrical, mechanical, and automation) to ensure >98% machine uptime.Liaise with OEMs (e.g., Meyer Burger, Centrotherm, Tempress, Despatch, RENA, etc.) for upgrades, process optimization, and AMCs.Approve calibration schedules, spare inventory management, and preventive maintenance plans.Evaluate and integrate new technologies (TOPCon, HJT, PERC→TOPCon migration, AI/ML for predictive maintenance).D. Manpower & LeadershipLead a team of 300–700+ employees across production, quality, maintenance, logistics, and EHS.Mentor and develop mid-level and shop-floor supervisors.Ensure disciplined shift operations and workforce productivity.Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.E. EHS, Statutory Compliance & SustainabilityEnsure 100% compliance with  EHS laws, pollution control norms, fire & safety standards, and ISO guidelines .Oversee chemical handling (HF, HCl, IPA, Nitric Acid), waste treatment, and emergency response preparedness.Drive energy efficiency initiatives and carbon-reduction programs aligned with ESG goals.F. Supply Chain, Cost Management & BudgetingCoordinate with SCM for wafer procurement, consumables, chemicals, spare parts, and packaging material.Control production cost per watt and optimize inventory levels.Forecast annual operating budget (OPEX) and capex requirements.Strengthen vendor management and negotiate cost-effective procurement.G. Cross-Functional CoordinationCollaborate with R&D for process development, new cell architecture testing, and line upgrades.Work with Finance, HR, IT, SCM and Senior Management for smooth plant functioning.Represent plant operations during audits (customer, ISO, statutory).3. Qualifications & ExperienceB.Tech / M.Tech in  Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Chemical / Production Engineering .20+ years  of experience in high-tech manufacturing (preferably 6+ years in solar cell/PV manufacturing).Strong understanding of cell manufacturing processes, cleanroom operations, and technical troubleshooting.Proven track record in leading large-scale plants (GW-scale preferred).Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and Industry 4.0 tools.5.
