Role Summary

The Operations Head will oversee complete plant and supply chain functions including Production, PPC, Purchase, Stores, Material Management, Warehouse, and Dispatch. The role ensures timely, cost-efficient, and high-quality execution of all orders while driving operational excellence and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production & Capacity Management

  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production targets are achieved.
  • Optimize manpower, machines, and material utilization.
  • Monitor production planning, routing, and workflow efficiency.

2. PPC & Planning Control

  • Approve the master production schedule and ensure strict adherence.
  • Review order timelines, material readiness, and capacity load distribution.
  • Eliminate bottlenecks through proactive planning.

3. Supply Chain & Material Flow

  • Coordinate with Purchase to ensure timely material availability.
  • Ensure raw material, WIP, and FG movement is smooth and controlled.
  • Maintain optimum inventory levels across RM, SFG, and FG.

4. Quality & Process Control

  • Enforce product quality standards with zero tolerance for deviations.
  • Implement Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and continual improvement practices.
  • Reduce rejections, wastage, and rework.

5. Cost, Efficiency & Compliance

  • Reduce operational costs through process improvement and optimisation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and ISO/quality guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and dashboards for management.

6. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Lead PPC, Production, Purchase, Stores, Warehouse, and Dispatch teams.
  • Conduct daily review meetings and monthly performance analytics.
  • Resolve escalations and ensure smooth operations across departments.

7. Dispatch & OTIF Delivery

  • Monitor dispatch schedules and ensure on-time, in-full order delivery.
  • Coordinate with logistics, sales, and warehouse for timely fulfillment.

Job Requirements

  • B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial; MBA preferred
  • 12–18+ years of experience in manufacturing operations
  • Strong exposure to production, PPC, store, purchase, dispatch
  • Expertise in lean manufacturing, process optimisation, quality management
  • Experience in handling 150–300 manpower (blue + white collar)
  • Strong decision making & cross-department coordination
  • Knowledge of ERP/ SAP & factory compliance norms
