International Payroll Lead/Analyst

Toku is looking for an experienced payroller to assist our Payroll team in all BAU aspects of payroll as well as key projects and initiatives. The successful candidate needs to be able to deliver on setting up processes, entities and best practices, whilst balancing the needs of the BAU processes, with minimal supervision. They will be the lead on all India/APAC payrolls and be point of contact for additional.

Duties and responsibilities

  1. Liaise with internal stakeholders to verify, collect and organise payroll data before submitting to payroll providers/processing payroll with localised software
  2. Prepare data for submission to the suppliers via various methods across multiple countries
  3. Liaise with payroll providers on submissions and deal with any related queries
  4. Review and reconcile payroll data within agreed upon timeframes ensuring employees and third parties, get paid accurately, compliantly and in a timely fashion
  5. First line contact for queries from internal employees, external contributors, internal partners and vendors.
  6. Address inquiries from various internal teams, such as HR, finance, etc
  7. Ensure up to date records, processes and procedures
  8. Ensure implementation new country payrolls compliantly and efficiently
  9. Ensure smooth transitions of current providers to new providers
  10. Able to troubleshoot, take ownership and resolve issues from start to end
  11. Provide cover support as and when required

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Strong India/APAC payroll experience with a minimum of three years
  2. Solid functional knowledge of payroll processing and best practices
  3. Excellent attention to detail and highly numerate
  4. Capable of working independently whilst using own initiative, as well as a member of the team and in partnership with external vendors.
  5. Strong organisational and time management skills and the ability to work in an agile environment whilst remaining flexible and adaptable to change
  6. Strong verbal and written communication skills and fluency in English and additional language
  7. Uses initiative to solve problems
  8. Critical thinking: questions the why and the how, thinks about impact for the future
  9. Strong knowledge of Excel and Google sheets

Additional nice to have qualifications

  1. Additional language skills will be an advantage
  2. Knowledge of other payrolls outside of India/APAC will be an advantage
  3. Crypto compensation experience
