Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Sales Engineer located in Pune. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support, driving sales, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Day-to-day tasks include identifying and pursuing sales leads, understanding customer requirements, providing solutions and specifications, and offering after-sales support. The Sales Engineer will work closely with clients and internal teams to achieve business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively generate leads through cold calling, market research, industrial networking, and on-ground visits with OEMs
- Engage in technical presentations and product demonstrations to convert leads into qualified opportunities
- Understand customer requirements and provide tailored automation solutions and system specifications
- Conduct regular client visits for pre-sales consultations, project discussions, and after-sales engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in steel, pipe, and manufacturing industries
- Collaborate with internal engineering, R&D, and project teams to ensure seamless project execution
- Drive technical-commercial proposals, negotiations, and order closures
- Deliver post-sales support and technical assistance to ensure customer satisfaction and retention
- Maintain CRM data, prepare sales reports, and contribute to strategic sales planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering ( Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation) or a related field
- 1–4 years of experience in similar technical-sales environment
- Strong command over sales fundamentals including lead generation, client mapping, cold outreach, and consultative selling
- Technical Support skills
- Ability to understand and explain automation system architecture and technical features clearly to customers
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Self-driven with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Familiarity with the steel and manufacturing sectors will be an added advantage
