Role Overview

The Purchase Manager will be responsible for strategic sourcing, vendor management, procurement planning, and cost optimization across both the Tea Division and the Ongoing Hotel Construction Project. This role demands strong negotiation skills, multitasking ability, and experience handling both agricultural commodities and construction materials procurement.

Key Responsibilities:-

A. Tea Industry Procurement

  • Source and purchase raw materials (green leaf, packaging materials, machinery spares, fertilizers, etc.) for tea production units.
  • Coordinate with estate managers and factory heads for timely supply of materials.
  • Manage vendor performance, price negotiations, and contract renewals.
  • Ensure quality standards, certifications, and compliance with industry norms.
  • Track market trends and price fluctuations in the tea sector to optimize procurement costs.

B. Hotel Construction Project Procurement

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for construction materials, interior furnishings, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) items, and related services.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure timely supply of approved materials.
  • Evaluate and onboard vendors and contractors for the project.
  • Ensure all procurement complies with project timelines, budgets, and quality specifications.
  • Maintain detailed purchase records, vendor databases, and payment schedules.

C. General & Administrative

  • Prepare purchase orders, comparative statements, and budget reports.
  • Develop and implement cost-control measures and inventory optimization.
  • Liaise with finance for timely invoice clearance and documentation.
  • Oversee logistics, transportation, and delivery coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and sustainability standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • MBA / PG Diploma in Materials Management preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement (Tea / Construction).
  • Strong knowledge of vendor sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Proficiency in ERP / Tally andMS Excel.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
