Job Title: Assistant Manager / Manager / Senior Manager Statutory Audit

Qualification: Chartered Accountant

Experience: 4 to 10 Years

Location: Mumbai

Role Overview

The role involves leading and executing statutory audits in accordance with Indian GAAP, Ind AS, and relevant auditing standards. The candidate will manage client engagements, ensure compliance, supervise teams, and deliver high-quality audit reports within defined timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute statutory audits for clients across sectors as per Companies Act, Accounting Standards/Ind AS, and Standards on Auditing (SA).
  • Review financial statements, working papers, audit documentation, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Design audit plans, identify key areas of risk, and propose audit procedures.
  • Manage and guide team members; review work performed by juniors and resolve technical issues.
  • Coordinate with clients finance teams and management for data, clarifications, and audit closure.
  • Prepare audit reports, management letters, internal control observations and recommendations.
  • Stay updated on changes in Ind AS, CARO, Schedule III, GST, Income Tax and other financial reporting requirements.
  • Handle peer review / EQCR documentation as required.
  • Manage timelines, workloads, and ensure on-time delivery of assignments.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships; support additional advisory/support services where relevant.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Ind AS / Accounting Standards, Companies Act, Tax laws (basic) and Auditing Standards.
  • Practical experience in Statutory Audit of medium to large corporates / listed entities.
  • Ability to review financial statements and identify key reporting matters.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Strong team management and client handling capabilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Tally / ERP systems, and audit tools.

Preferred Background

  • Experience with Audit firms (Big 4 / Mid-sized / Regional CA firms).
  • Exposure to sectors like Manufacturing, Pharma, Retail, Service, IT/ITES, BFSI will be an advantage.
