Role: Project Procurement Manager
Industry Focus

• Hydro Power Equipment (Turbines, Generators, Control Panels, Fabricated Parts)

• Heavy Engineering

• Renewable Energy (especially Hydro)
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Project Procurement

• Plan and execute procurement activities for all project-specific requirements (mechanical,
electrical, and fabricated components).

• Develop procurement schedules aligned with overall project timelines.

• Coordinate with engineering and project management teams for technical and delivery
requirements.
2. Sourcing & Vendor Development

• Identify and develop vendors for specialized project components.

• Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and onboarding processes.

• Ensure strategic sourcing for quality, cost, and delivery efficiency.
3. RFQ & Commercial Evaluation

• Float RFQs (Request for Quotations), manage technical and commercial clarifications.

• Evaluate offers based on cost, lead time, quality, and compliance.

• Finalize purchase orders and contracts after negotiations.
4. Expediting & Logistics Coordination

• Work closely with the expediting team to track material delivery.

• Coordinate transportation, customs clearance (for imports), and site delivery.

• Resolve any delays with proactive measures.
5. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Align with engineering, planning, project execution, quality, and finance teams.

• Ensure all procurement activities support the project delivery schedule.
6. ERP / System Compliance

• Maintain procurement activities in SAP or equivalent ERP systems.

• Track material cost, order placement, delivery, and vendor
Cost Optimization
Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, alternate vendors, and bulk
negotiations.

• Analyze cost breakdowns and track budget adherence.
