Job Summary
:
We are looking for a highly creative and quality-focused NPD & R&D Chef specializing in frozen cakes to lead product innovation and recipe development. The role involves creating new recipes in line with brand identity, developing menus, and driving innovation while ensuring food safety, hygiene, and consistency. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills to manage a team of dedicated chefs and deliver products that align with market demand and consumer preferences.
Key Responsibilities
:
Develop, test, and refine frozen cake recipes and product variations as per brand standards.
Create innovative menus and product lines that cater to evolving market demand and trends.
Lead and mentor a team of chefs, ensuring creativity, precision, and consistency in output.
Enhance product quality by improving taste, texture, presentation, and shelf life.
Conduct trials, tastings, and maintain clear documentation for recipes and formulations.
Collaborate with procurement, production, and marketing teams for successful product launches.
Research and analyze competitor offerings, consumer insights, and global market trends.
Standardize recipes and processes for efficient scale-up in production.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards (FSSAI / HACCP) at all stages.
Manage R&D resources, raw material inventory, and specialized frozen dessert equipment.
Requirements:
Degree/Diploma in Culinary Arts, Bakery & Pastry, or Food Technology.
5–7 years of experience in NPD/R&D within frozen cakes, bakery, or confectionery.
Strong knowledge of freezing technology, baking science, and ingredient functionality.
Proven creativity in recipe development and menu innovation.
Ability to balance innovation, quality, and commercial viability.
Experience leading and managing a team of chefs.
Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
